Kotono: Daughter of Genjuro an elder of the Katoyika village that Ryu saved. Always curious towards Ryu’s abilities, but she’s nevertheless trusting and headstrong.

Jin: Kotono’s wisecracking twin brother, rescued from thugs sent to assassinate a son of Genjuro.

Jin and Kotono also have three other brothers; Seiji, Rikimaru and Tenchi.

Genjuro: Entering the tale as a village leader in a coma, he is eternally grateful for the deeds that Ryu has done for them. He is otherwise a loving father but has good faith that he’ll protect Jin and Kotono from harm.

Hitoshi: Servant and close friend of Genjuro and his children. After Genjuro went into a coma, Hitoshi suffered a nervous breakdown and went into a jittery state of mind since, until Ryu was able to return him back to normal. He is essentially one of the family he serves and is willing to die for them.

Huunchuud: A large ogre-humanoid that serves Shogun. He led the assault on the Katoyika village. Wielding two curved blades and wearing a helmet just as fierce as he is, he’s fiery wrath ironically sealed his fate as Ryu struck him from the air like he would a fly.
